Leaving the Frame
As an artist, leaving my comfort zone has been a challenging journey. I struggled to understand that there is no right or wrong when it comes to art because every individual has different styles and ideas. This painting made me realize the power of exiting my comfort zone. I began painting shapes with colors that simply felt right to me. After completing the painting, something was missing. This is when I decided to frame a small portion of the canvas and changed its colors to black and white, representing when one is inside the comfort zone.
Finally, I decided to place the other portion of my original painting outside the frame but left the initial colors. As a goal I wanted my artwork to show how one can bloom when experimenting and doing what feels right, to finally leave your comfort zone, and become the best version of themselves.
